Antonio Picariello

Full Professor at University of Cassino "Federico II"

Antonio Picariello was a Full Professor of Big Data Analytics at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology of the University of Napoli Federico II. He was the Director of the National Laboratory on Information Technologies and Multimedia (ITEM) of the Italian Consortium for Computer Science and Engineering (CINI), member of the Data Science Task Force of the University of Naples Federico II, chair of Laurea and Laurea Magistrale Degree of Computer Engineering School. He got a PhD in Computer Science and Engineering in 1998 from the University of Naples ”Federico II”. He was research associate at CNR IRSIP, then he joined University of Naples as assistant and associate professor, teaching Data Base systems, Multimedia Data Base, Ontology and Big Data Analytics and Business Intelligence. In the last years, Antonio Picariello conducted research in the following fields: Multimedia Data Base, Video Surveillance, Semantic Information Retrieval, Social Network Analysis, Sentiment Analysis, Big Data and Big Data Analytics. He was the author/coauthor of more then 250 papers published in international Conferences and/or in International Journals. He was the co-author of 6 course books (in Italian), 1 research course book (in English). Antonio Picariello got the IS-2006-076 - ”OASYS version 1.0 (Opinion Analysis System)”. He has been P.I. of several research projects funded by Italian Ministry for Industry, and FESR – POR Campania2007 – 2013.

Davide Tanasi

Associate Professor at University of South Florida

Davide Tanasi is Associate Professor of Digital Humanities with the Department of History of University of South Florida (USA) where he directs the Institute for Digital Exploration (IDEx) and he is the Principal Investigator of the ‘Archaeology of Sicily in 3D’ virtualization project. Davide is an archaeological scientist and digital archaeologist specialist of application of 3D digital imaging, 3D Visualization and Computer Vision to Archaeology and of Digital Communication of Cultural Heritage. In those field, he has authored and edited ten books and over a hundred of scientific publications with his researches being highlighted in the mainstream media, such as National Geographic, The Smithsonian, Scientific American, The Guardian and The Conversation. He also co-produced, as scriptwriter, scientific consultant and assistant director, documentaries in 3D computer animation, among which the multi-awarded movies about Greek Siracusa (Siracusa 3D Reborn, 2013) and Roman Pompeii (Pompei 3D. A Buried Story, 2015). In the last few years he has raised over $100,000 in grants and awards from American and European foundations and institutions for his researches in Digital Archaeology.
