Massimo De Santo

Full Professor at University of Salerno, Italy

Massimo De Santo is a full professor of Computer Networks at the University of Salerno, where he also coordinates the PhD program in Industrial Engineering. His academic career began with a degree in Electronic Engineering with honors from the University of Naples Federico II, followed by a PhD with distinction in Electronic and Computer Engineering. His research focuses on advanced technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, intelligent learning systems, and the application of ICT to enhance cultural heritage. He has also developed original methodologies in the field of computer vision, actively collaborating with several European and US universities on international projects. As a teacher, he has trained generations of students, teaching key courses such as Computer Networks and Electronic Computers. His passion for education is also reflected in European-coordinated projects, in which he has integrated e-learning with innovative approaches to distributed intelligence. He served as the Chairman of the ICT Center for Cultural Heritage for over ten years. In addition to his academic career, Massimo De Santo is a successful popularizer, co-creator of podcasts such as “Digitalia” and “Fantascientificast,” where he explores the impact of digital technologies on society and cultivates his passion for science fiction. His scientific output is vast, with over 250 publications, testifying to his ongoing commitment to innovation and research.
